Draft for legal review. This page is a plain-language starting point, not a finished legal document.
Privacy
Draft dated October 18, 2026.
Camera
Scanning starts only after you tap Scan or Open camera. The video stream stays in your browser. FodCheck does not upload the picture. When a barcode is read, the browser navigates to a page for those digits, the same as if you had typed them into search.
Email list
If you join the list, we store the address so we can write when the catalog grows. When a database is connected, that row lives in Supabase and is not readable by other visitors. If the database is not configured, the form does not store the address and the page says so. Write to hello@fodcheck.app to be removed.
Product suggestions
A suggestion stores the barcode, the product name you typed, an optional store, and an optional email. We use it to look for that product. We do not sell addresses or suggestions.
Product data
Names, brands, ingredient lists, and photos are copied from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License. Those records were contributed by the public and may include data people chose to publish.
